GRAMMY Noms & Predictions

So last week, the 50th Annual GRAMMY Nominees were announced in the wee hours of the morning in Hollywood. The GRAMMYs will air Sunday, February 2007 on CBS. I am not always a big fan of their nomination choices but I am usually a faithful GRAMMY fanboy. It’s always a huge production, the GRAMMYs usually don’t disappoint me, great performances and appearances, nice speeches, some unusual twists, occasional drama, what’s not to love? Anyway, below are the nominees for some of the major categories. I like to play “Rock The GRAMMYs” and pretend my opinion matters to the Academy so I put a little extra emphasis on those who I think should/will walk away with the golden gramophone.

  1. There are some weird nominees this year. But seriously, Foo Fighter’s new album was not THAT great…

Neon Bible should definitely be nominated for Best Album.

  2. Respectfully disagree…Foo Fighters CD was only topped by Jimmy Eat World’s album (not eligible for a Grammy). Wish I shared your confidence in the Foo’s winning though. I can see the Grammy’s giving it to the trashy cokeslut Amy Winehouse. But you’re equally right about Kanye deserving the win.

I also want Paramore to win new artist; feist puts me to sleep.

  14. Love your blog! We share some similar tastes in music, but I have to say I think you’re way off in predicting that the Foo Fighters will win record or album of the year. I haven’t heard the album, but I am perfectly comfortable stating that.
